Essential Questions You Must Ask Your Wedding Videographer

Your wedding video will tell the unique story of your wedding and be a treasured family keepsake but there are no 2nd takes! Ask your wedding videographer these questions before you hire them to make sure you purchase the correct package and receive the video of your dreams.

How long have they been in business. How many wedding video's have they produced?
Who will be actually filming the wedding. If this will not be videographer you are speaking with be sure to speak with YOUR videographer.
Ask to see several samples of work filmed by the videographer who'll be filming your wedding.
Have they filmed at your wedding site/location before. If so ask to see a sample.
What is the videographer's shooting style (documentary, cinematic).
What type of cameras will be used (3 chip, HD) and how new is the equipment.
What editing equipment will be used?
Will special effects be added to the video? If so, see a sample.
How will the sound be recorded? Will wireless microphones be used.
Will they tie into the sound system at the ceremony and reception sites?
What kind of lighting system will be used? Will it be intrusive? Ask to see samples of footage with and without their lighting systems to see which style you prefer.
Will they arrive before their contracted time to set-up?
How many cameras will be used?
How many camera operators will be used?
What is their overtime rate? (as wedding schedules often run later than planned).
Can you select your own music for the video?
What other services do they provide? Many videographers of photo montages which can be shown at the reception.
Will the videographer bring an assistant?
Will they have a back-up camera available?
How many copies of the final program will you receive and will they be on DVD?
How much will additional dvd copies cost?
Will you receive a copy of the raw footage?
How long will it take to complete the program and when will you receive your DVD's?
